"There have been moments when a donor has simply picked up the phone to express interest, offer support or ask how they could contribute. Each of those calls carried a willingness to believe in the vision and to be part of making it happen."
Philanthropy, Development Support and Resource Mobilisation
Converting strategic partnerships and donor relationships into tangible, lasting investments in institutional capacity, infrastructure and research.
Resource mobilisation has been a significant component of my institutional leadership. I have pursued a diversified approach involving competitive research funding, philanthropic contributions, donor support, institutional resources and strategic partnerships. The emphasis has been not simply on attracting resources, but on converting them into tangible investments in academic infrastructure, research, ICT, renewable energy, innovation and institutional capacity. This approach has contributed to institutional growth while strengthening the University's financial and developmental resilience.
Key Philanthropic and Resource Mobilisation Outcomes
Strategic achievements in resource mobilisation, donor engagement and institutional financial development:
Total Philanthropic and Development Support
Mobilised over USD 11.068 million in philanthropic and development support across the institution, channelled into infrastructure, research, ICT, renewable energy and emerging academic programmes.
International Research Grant Attraction
Attracted over USD 3 million in international research grants to strengthen the University's research capacity and enable collaborative international research partnerships.
Competitive Research Proposal Development
Developed competitive research proposals valued at more than USD 6.3 million, building the University's research pipeline and competitive grant-seeking culture.
Diversified Resource Mobilisation Approach
Diversified resource mobilisation through philanthropic contributions, donor support, institutional resources, grants and strategic partnerships to reduce financial concentration risk.
Conversion of Mobilised Resources into Institutional Investment
Converted mobilised resources into investments in academic infrastructure, research facilities, ICT, innovation, renewable energy and emerging academic programmes, ensuring resources translate into tangible institutional assets.
Infrastructure Projects Portfolio
Mobilised and leveraged resources for projects with an aggregate value of approximately USD 4.39 million, with an additional proposed investment of approximately USD 1.5 million for the Lateefat Gbajabiamila College of Nursing Complex.
Institutional Financial Sustainability
Strengthened institutional financial sustainability through postgraduate programmes, professional certifications, grants, partnerships and strategic initiatives that reduce dependence on a single revenue stream.
Strategic Partnerships as Leverage Instruments
Promoted strategic partnerships as instruments for leveraging financial, technical, infrastructural and human resources for institutional development, extending the University's reach well beyond its own internal capacity.
