Overwhelmed by the remarkable turnout at the FUOYE Grantsmanship Webinar. Success in grants comes through preparation, persistence, collaboration, innovation, resilience, and continuous learning.
I am truly humbled by the overwhelming response to the June Webinar hosted by the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), on “Grantsmanship: Writing Winning Proposals for Research Grants.”
The turnout exceeded all expectations. The initial online meeting reached capacity within a short time, necessitating the creation of a second meeting room, which was also filled within minutes. Unfortunately, many interested participants could still not gain access.
This remarkable response reflects the growing interest in research excellence, innovation, and funding opportunities.
My key message was simple: “successful grants are built on preparation, persistence, collaboration, innovation, and resilience”.
Researchers should not fear rejection but view it as part of the journey towards success.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the enriching discussions. Together, we can build a stronger culture of research, innovation, and societal impact.
